Where Flavour Meets Rhythm

Kodo — the Japanese word for "heartbeat" — is the pulse of a new culinary era on the slopes of Constantia. Born from an extraordinary partnership between culinary maverick Chef Cheyne Morrisby and the globally celebrated Drumstruck, Kodo is where bold Asian-fusion cuisine meets the ancient power of the African drum.

Set within the breathtaking Silvermist Wine Estate, surrounded by the Table Mountain nature reserve with sweeping views of the Twelve Apostles, every moment at Kodo is designed to awaken your senses — from the first sip of organic Constantia wine to the last resonating beat.

Every Kodo lunch is accompanied by live African fusion music from Drumstruck — some of the best singers and drummers in South Africa. From traditional African beats to amapiano, their sound is the heartbeat of the Kodo experience, turning a meal into a celebration.

Drumstruck itself is the world's first interactive drum theatre — from Off-Broadway to the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony, from the FIFA World Cup to Dollywood alongside Dolly Parton. Hailed as "STOMP meets The Lion King" by Edinburgh Fringe critics, Drumstruck has captivated audiences across the globe. Created by Warren Lieberman and born from the Drum Cafe movement that united people in post-Apartheid South Africa, it carries a legacy of connection, celebration, and rhythm.

At Kodo, you get the musicians and the energy — an unforgettable soundtrack to Chef Cheyne's bold cuisine.

"I'm dumbstruck for Drumstruck!" — Dolly Parton
"The beats that are its soul reaffirm the appealing power of the drum, resounding across time and cultures." — The New York Times

Drumstruck performers have shared stages with Shakira, Alicia Keys, Will Smith, Amy Winehouse, Peter Gabriel, and Jared Leto — and played for Nelson Mandela, Bill Clinton, and Prince Charles.
